Assignment

The Holiday Discounter offers complete package tours. As a vacationer, you book your hotel, flight and transfer in one purchase process.The aim of this redesign project was to improve usability and thus increase the number of bookings.

Team

Together with Patrick Plaggenborg (freelance art director) and Thomas van Zuijlen (front-end developer), we have delivered a total redesign of concept, responsive design and front end.

Challenges

Increase conversion through discovery

DéVakantieDiscounter makes it as easy as possible for visitors to find the most suitable offer from various tour operators in the huge range of package tours. Here, the offerings of many tour operators are collected and compared with each other. Because it can take some time for all information to arrive, it is important to weigh the visitor's acute information needs with regard to the topicality of the information. How do you provide a transparent price indication as quickly as possible and guide the visitor to a personal quote? How do you direct the visitor to the best deal and how do you turn disappointment into an alternative offer when the current price or availability is disappointing?

I really enjoyed doing the Design Sprint. It's a fun way to take a different perspective and try to look from the customer's side - something we don't often do in a concrete and tangible way. I also liked the length of time; it was short and powerful - we achieved a lot without overloading our brain:D
